LE PISTOL OPTICS INSTRUCTOR

Pistol Mounted Optics LEO Instructor class covers all aspects of transitioning to a pistol mounted optic and equips the instructor with the skills to transition their officers to the Pistol optic.

Over the course of two days officers will participate in a variety of drills designed to ease transition from conventional sights, enhance dot acquisition speed, dot tracking through recoil and target transitions.  In this course we will also discuss the pros and cons of an optic, technical issues with optics, mounting of the optic, holster options and common maintenance plans. They will learn techniques for presentation and acquisition of the dot, one handed shooting with the optic, positional shooting, diminished light, moving and shooting. Officers will Learn downed optics drills that will teach how to work with an obscured window, dot failure, cracked or no lens, and other potential problems.

This is an instructor level course, and it is recommended that attending officers have their Firearms Instructor Certification.  Non-Instructors can still attend the course as it is a perfect transition platform for new PMO users.  To receive an instructor certification the student will be required to deliver teach backs during day 2 and pass a shooting qualification course of fire.

MODERN RIOT CONTROL TACTICS

We offer extensive training for riot control techniques. We use modern solutions for today's institutions and communities. we will take a comprehensive look at your current capabilities and make recommendations for equipment, tactics and policies.

Typical riot control tactics do not work well in modern prison facilities. They were designed for large open spaces. But what happens when a riot breaks out in a large day room, direct supervision facility or small yard? How do you gain access, present a field force, utilize the various tools to gain compliance? Unfortunately there is not much training out there that covers these types of situations.

We wrote the book on what we call CQB riot techniques. We developed techniques, backed by 25 years of experience and training, that offer solutions to these problems. Our tactics and techniques help reduce officer and offender injuries and department liability.

Our instruction will include:

  • CQB tactics and option
  • Less lethal options and use
  • Establishing a field force in a confined space
  • Use of shields, batons, chemical agents, K9 and firearms
