204 - Rifle - Diminished Light
Most attacks occur at night time or in diminished light conditions. Isn't it time you learned how to fight at night with your firearm?
The prerequisite for this course is our Basic Combat Rifle or proof of taking another reputable training organization – NO EXCEPTIONS.
This is a 6 hour course designed for the use of weapon mounted lights on a fighting rifle. This course is for the experienced shooter. Shooter must be proficient with their firearm in loading, unloading, malfunction clearing and safety. This course will have a classroom portion to learn about lighting conditions, how the eyes work in diminished light, lighting tools, night sights, lasers, pros and cons of all the different types of sighting systems used in diminished light and much more.
We will shoot from daylight into the dark, artificial lighting, blinding light, moving and shooting, multiple targets, use of cover, and when time permits our TCS drills in the dark. Come see how those pistols optics work in the dark.
Rifle/Handgun Transitions - Students should have taken our Rifle/Handgun transition course prior to this course to ensure a better experience in this course.
We will cover transitioning from the rifle to handgun, fixing malfunctions with both weapon systems, recovering back to the rifle correctly, mindset, awareness and many other tactical considerations all while using lighting systems with each weapon system in a low light situation. We will put you in several types of scenarios including; moving and shooting, use of cover and concealment, non-traditional shooting positions and much more.
Dry fire and live fire will start during daylight and run into the dark. Dry drills and live fire drills will consist of; lit conditions, diminishing light, no light, headlamps, flashlights and ambient light. Targets will range from paper to steel and a combination of both. Expect to fire on average 500 rounds of ammunition in this course.
